Return to College/Degree Programs Return to: College/Degree Programs

This minor exposes students to Cognitive Science, the interdisciplinary study of the mind. Courses in the minor come from psychology, computer science, philosophy, and linguistics and provide a framework for addressing issues related to human-computer interaction, theory of mind, artificial intelligence, education, marketing, and many other areas.

The minor is administered by the Institute for Intelligent Systems and students in the minor are encouraged to attend the public weekly Cognitive Science Seminar and participate in lab research.

Psychology majors are not eligible for the minor and should instead pursue the Cognitive Science Concentration within their major.
