Financial Planner Certificate

Note


The CFP® Certification Education Program Undergraduate Certificate (Financial Planner Certificate) allows students to petition to the CFP board regarding his or her completion of the CFP Board Educational Requirements and to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam. Students wishing to receive the Financial Planner Certificate must successfully pass: FIR 3410 , FIR 3710 , FIR 4011 FIR 4620 FIR 4870 , and ACCT 3510  . The Financial Planner Certificate is issued by the Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate and is not posted on the student’s transcript. The classes taken under this certificate program may also count as credit for any finance major.

Qualifications for either the Financial Analyst Certificate or the CFP® Certification Education Program Certificate (Financial Planner Certificate) may be met in either the FIR undergraduate programs or the FIR graduate programs.

Note:  For BBA students majoring in Finance with a concentration in Banking and Financial Services that wish to earn the Financial Planner Certificate, in addition to FIR 3710, 3720, 4710, 4720; the student must complete FIR 4011, 4620, 4870, and ACCT 3510.

Note:  For BBA students majoring in Finance with a concentration in Business Finance that wish to earn the Financial Planner Certificate, the student must complete FIR 3710, 3720, 4011, 4440, 4610, 4620, 4870, and ACCT 3510.
