Financial Analyst Certificate

Note


When an appropriate upper-division FIR class is not available, an alternative is to take FIR 4910 - Independent Study in Finance, Insurance, Real Estate  under the supervision of a faculty member appointed by the Department Chair. Classes taken in conjunction with the Financial Analyst Certificate may count for credit for any students in the BBA Finance major.

Students qualifying for the Financial Analyst Undergraduate Certificate are required to receive a minimum of a B grade in each of the above classes. It is incumbent on each student to petition the Department Chair of his or her qualifications to receive the Certificate. The certificate is issued by the Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate and is not posted on the student’s transcript.

Note:  For BBA students majoring in Finance with a concentration in Banking and Financial Services that wish to earn the Financial Analyst Certificate, in addition to FIR 3710, 3720, 4710, 4720, 4730; take 6 hours from FIR 4331, 4721, 4770, 4911; and take 3 hours from FIR 3310, 3810, 4011, 4310, 4320, 4331, 4350, 4440, 4610, 4620, 4810, 4870, ACCT 3510, ECON 3610.

Note:  For BBA students majoring in Finance with a concentration in Business Finance that wish to earn the Financial Analyst Certificate, FIR 3710, 3720, 4440, 4610, 4730; take 6 hours from FIR 4331, 4721, 4770, 4911; and take 3 hours from FIR 3310, 4011, 4310, 4320, 4331, 4340, 4350, 4550, 4710, 4720, 4721, 4730, 4770, 4870, 4911, ECON 4112, 4120, MIS 3775, ACCT 3510.
