AVIA 4800 - Human Factors & Crew Resource Management Credit Hours: (3) Description: This course introduces the student to issues influencing human performance in the complex operational aviation environment. Theory and practical applications of cognitive processing, decision making, interpersonal interaction and communication will be presented. This course also introduces design elements intended to optimize man-machine interaction. The course explores how human factors relate to causes of previous aircraft accidents and how human factors are impacting the stellar safety record of the current air carrier industry. Students must be a Commercial Aviation major to register.
