HIST 4327 - Life and Death in Ancient Egypt Credit Hours: (3) Description: Traversing the realms of the living and the dead, this course focuses on what it was like for the ancient Egyptians to live, grow old, die, and be born again in this complex and fascinating society. Surveys ancient Egyptian political, social, and religious structure as they relate to daily life. Explores topics of gender, identity, family structure, social hierarchy, labor, slavery, poverty, death, and burial in the Pharaonic period c. 3000 to 323 BCE.
