ARTH 6146 - European Art, 1600-1750 Credit Hours: (3) Description Traditionally known as the Baroque and early Rococo periods, this course examines the painting, printmaking, sculpture, and architecture of Western Europe from about 1600 to 1750, one of the most expressive and volatile periods in the early modern Western world. The course largely considers how the Protestant Reformation and the Counter Reformation transformed the art world, and focuses on ways that art was used as a means of persuasion by political and religious institutions.
