Description (Same as BIOL 6511). Chemistry of amino acids and proteins as related to their properties in biochemical systems; protein conformation studies; enzymology; coenzymes and their functions; importance of pH and bioenergetics in catalysis; protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Three lecture hours per week. PREREQUISITE(S): CHEM 3511 with at least a C-. Cross listing (Same as BIOL 6511)
