Description Covers assessment and diagnosis of mental disorders utilizing DSM-IV classification system and common counseling approaches for each of the major mental disorders; includes current understandings of the etiology, prevention, and treatment of each mental disorder; differential diagnosis using the DSM-IV manual; counseling approaches and case management; and psychopharmacology. PREREQUISITE(S): Enrollment in a COUN or CPSY degree program or consent of instructor.
