Description This course provides a broad overview of the scholarship on representation. The course will examine how well the American public is represented, what it means to be represented, whether the public is capable of ensuring it is represented, and the effectiveness of American government institutions in achieving representation. The course is designed to be a collaborative enterprise in which we, as a class, evaluate the health of representative democracy in America and consider how we might do better.
