Description This course focuses on concepts of risk and burden of disease in urban communities. It examines contemporary issues and challenges of the social, cultural, built, and physical environments of urban communities. Key topics include public health and urban health; roots of health inequality; risk and burden of disearse; stress, socio-economic and structural influences on health; and community-based approaches (CBPR) to address public health concerns in urban communities.
