PUBH 7401 - Applied Field Epidemiology Credit Hours: (3) Description This course is designed to introduce students to the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for conducting field epidemiology investigations and outbreak investigations they will be expected to manage as public health professionals working in local health department settings. Topics covered will include surveillance and outbreak detection; designing field investigations; selecting appropriate comparison groups; hypothesis generation and analytic studies; introducing public health control measures; conducting multijurisdictional investigations; and communicating findings.
