ANTH 6800 - Conservation, Culture, and Environmental Change

Description This course focuses on the intersection of culture and conservation policy, with virtual field-based research experience among conservation organizations in (virtually or through study abroad).  The course introduces students to concepts and issues in environmental anthropology, with a specific focus on the intersection of culture change and conservation policy in the contexts of tourism development.  Students enrolled in the course will participate in collaborative research with professionals working in conservation NGOs and community organizations and engage in cross-disciplinary dialogue on conservation policy, livelihoods, and culture change.  Standard Letter
