PUBH 7474 - Principles of Population Health Informatics Credit Hours: 3 Description This course will provide students with an introduction to the fundamentals of population health informatics, its history, relevant concepts, and related informatics domains. The course will further describe the fundamentals of data, information and knowledge principles, information architecture of population health systems and role of data standards in the development of population health information systems. Students will be introduced to the concepts of population health data, and other emerging technological innovations that can contribute to the improvement of population health. The course will also provide students with a knowledge of issues related to privacy, security and confidentiality related to health data collection, storage, and its processing.
