PETE 7206 - Historical, Philosophical, & Theoretical Frameworks in Physical Education** Credit Hours: 3 Description This course is focused on historical background of the profession, as well as philosophical and theoretical frameworks in physical education (PE). Its purpose, simply, is to introduce the student to the philosophy of the profession, as well as some influential theoretical frameworks that have impacted the profession to date. By having a film understanding of the philosophy, history, and theories underpinning the field, the student will have an improved knowledge of how to approach the teaching of youth and adults as well as develop their ability to conduct cutting edge research.
