(3) This course provides an evidence-based approach to the study of the epidemiology and heatlh disparities of racial and ethnic groups in the U.S. Emphasis is placed on historical events and immigration policies that have contributed to the prominent size of these populations, identification of data sources to describe this demographic imperative and health status, and on socio-political, cultural, and religious influences that inform public policy on health disparities.
