(3) This course provides an overview of mental health issues from a public health perspective. Topics include differentiating mental health from mental illness, socio-economic disparities in mental illness, community-based services for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of prevalent mental illnesses, and major mental heatlh policy issues in the United States.
