Requirements

The International and Global Studies minor requires the completion of 18 credit hours, following requirements of all three categories below (A-C):

• A) Six credit hours (2 courses) in at least two disciplines from among the following courses:

   

• ANTH 1200 - Cultural Anthropology ** Credit Hours: (3)
• ECON 2010 - Intro to Macroeconomics** Credit Hours: (3)
• ESCI 1301 - Survey of World Regions Credit Hours: (3)
• ESCI 1401 - Intro/Cultural Geography Credit Hours: (3)
• HIST 1110 - World History to 1500** Credit Hours: (3)
• HIST 1120 - World History since 1500** Credit Hours: (3)
• INTL 1101 - Introduction to International and Global Studies** Credit Hours: (3)
• POLS 1301 - Intro to Comparative Politics ** Credit Hours: (3)
• POLS 1501 - International Relations** Credit Hours: (3)

  B) Three credit hours (one course) in a modern foreign language

   

  C) Nine upper division credit hours (3 courses) that count towards the International Studies major that must come from at least two different disciplines. For the list of applicable courses, please consult the International and Global Studies, (B.A.)  Major.

  Students may submit a request to the program director to have additional classes not listed (but with significant international or global content) count toward the minor.

   

  Note: A maximum of six hours from either study abroad or internship credits may be used towards fulfilling the requirements of the International and Global Studies minor (subject to approval by the International and Global Studies director).
