Population Health Informatics is the scientific discipline of developing, implementing, analyzing, and evaluating information systems to improve health outcomes in healthcare systems and enhance population health in communities. The Population Health Informatics Minor aims to equip students from public health and other health-related disciplines with the necessary understanding, skills, and competencies in modern health informatics. This minor will broaden students' interest, pave the way for graduate studies, and create professional opportunities in health informatics and the public health job market.
The Population Health Informatics Minor requires a total of 18 hours: 3 lower division hours, 9 hours from the Public Health upper division core, and 6 hours from the list of approved electives.
