The 30-hour master’s program provides students with a corporate governance perspective that emphasizes accounting in a service-oriented economy. The concentration focuses on the Information Systems & Controls Concentration part of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Admission Standards and Procedures
Admission Standards
Required:- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate grade point average that satisfies the Graduate School requirement of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Completion of the following courses or their equivalent with a grade of C or better in each:
- ACCT 2010 Financial Accounting;
- ACCT 3100 Foundations of Accounting;
- ACCT 3110 Intermediate Accounting I;
- ACCT 3120 Intermediate Accounting II;
- ACCT 3310 Intermediate Managerial Accounting;
- ACCT 3320 Accounting Analytics I;
- ACCT 4020 Accounting Systems;
- ACCT 4521 Individual Tax Compliance/Plan;
- ACCT 4240 Audit/Assurance Services;
- SCMS 3711 Business Analytics
- For international students only: if an English Proficiency Exam is needed, a score of at least 80 on TOEFL, 6.5 on IELTS, or 110 on Duolingo.
- For students with GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 on a 4-point scale, test scores (either Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is accepted). Applicants are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the applicant’s background.
Admission Procedures
Include the following materials in your online application via the Tiger Tracks portal: Required:- Official transcripts from each college or university attended.
- GRE or GMAT scores, if required
- International students must additionally include:
- If your highest degree earned is from an international university, a credential evaluation by any credentialling agency listed in www.naces.org may be required.
- If an English Proficiency Exam is needed, TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo test scores.
Program Requirements
30 credit hours of graduate coursework consisting of the following: - Accounting Core Courses (12 hours)
- Concentration Courses (12 hours)
- Electives (6 hours)
Accounting Analytics Core Courses (12 Required Hours)
The 30-hour master’s program provides students with a corporate governance perspective that emphasizes accounting in a service-oriented economy. Three concentrations within the major are offered: Information Systems and Controls, Business Analysis and Reporting, and Tax Compliance and Planning. Information Systems & Controls Concentration Courses (12 required hours)
Two Additional Courses chosen from the Below Three:
Electives (6 required hours)
- Choose 2 graduate level courses (6 credit hours) from courses offered by the Crews School of Accountancy (courses with prefix ACCT), with approval of the MS Accounting Advisor.
- Upon approval of MS Accounting Advisor, a graduate course can be taken from other departments at the Fogelman College or other colleges.
- Between concentration courses and elective courses, no more than 3 courses (9 credit hours) may be taken at the 6000 level.
- An internship does not count as credit toward the degree but is reported on the transcript
General Information
Graduation Requirements
- Fulfill the above program requirements.
- Must follow the process outlined by the Graduate School by the stipulated deadlines
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on all graduate coursework.
- No more than 6 hours of “C+,” “C,” or “C-” will be counted towards the degree.
Retention Policy
- Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 to continue in the program.
- Students on probation must adhere to an advising plan established by the program coordinator.
- A second semester on probation may result in termination or suspension.
