Intelligence Engineering and Applications Graduate Certificate

Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems play a pivotal role in almost all sectors, such as healthcare, transportation, defense, education, and so on. The objective of this certificate program is to ensure that our workforce is equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills in engineering AI systems. This program is specifically tailored to produce graduates with specialized knowledge and expertise, ensuring they can make substantial contributions to the evolving applications of AI in industry and academia.

Admission Standards and Procedures


  1. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (EE) or computer engineering (CE) or a closely related program;
  2. An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00 from an accredited college or university;
  3. Applicants whose native language is other than English must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
    1. TOEFL = 85,
    2. IELTS = 6.5
    3. Duolingo = 110,
    4. PTE = 59.

The certificate can be pursued concurrently with other graduate programs at the University.

Non-degree seeking applicants must submit a brief (1-2 pages) statement that describes educational and work experience in engineering, including their background in Artificial Intelligence and related areas. Acceptance into the certificate program is not an implied acceptance into any master’s degree program.

Program Requirements


Completion of 12 semester hours chosen from four of the following courses of which at least 6 semester hours should be at the 7000-level:

Graduation Requirements


The student must complete required courses with an average grade of B (3.0) or higher, for a total of 12 credit hours

In the semester of graduation, the student must submit an “Apply to Graduate” form to the Graduate School and a Graduate Certificate Candidacy form to the College Director of Graduate Studies by the deadline specified by the Graduate School.
