BIOL 6241 - Biogeog/GIS Analyses/Ecology

(Same as ESCI 6241) Description (Same as ESCI 6241). Basic principles of interaction between geography, organism diversity and evolution; physical factors limiting species distribution, theories of island biogeography, geographical modes of speciation. Laboratories introduce principles of GIS, basic functions of ArcGIS, and other programs relevant to ecological studies. Two lecture hours, two laboratory hours per week. PREREQUISITE(S): BIOL 1120 and 1121, or permission of instructor.
