HIST 6324 - History and Archaeology Credit Hours: 3.0 Description This class examines how archaeology contributes to the writing of history and how non-textual material culture contributes to our understanding of the past. Using examples from a variety of cultures and time periods the methodology and history of archaeology will be explained for non-archaeology majors and many case studies will illustrate how scholars use archaeological sources in creating historical narratives.
