PSYC 3519 - Psychology for Healthcare Professionals

Description: This course will utilize psychological principles to develop capable and competent healthcare professionals by (1) facilitating an understanding of the impact of developmental and adjustment issues on those seeking healthcare assistance, (2) nurturing self-understanding related to the professional role of a healthcare provider, (3) promoting mastery of effective interpersonal and professional communication skills integral to the patient-provider relationship, and (4) teaching the skills necessary to establish and maintain effective relationships that support patients’ goals.
