HIST 3372 - Crusade, Conquest, and Plague: Europe and the Mediterranean, 1000-1500 CE Credit Hours: 3 Description: This course surveys the main themes and events of European and Mediterranean history between the millennium and the year 1500 CE. Fundamentally, it studies the demographic and commercial boom that began around the millennium up to the “recalibration” of Europe and the Mediterranean after the cataclysmic Black Death of the Fourteenth Century. It is an introduction to the high and later Middle Ages in European and Mediterranean social, cultural, and economic history.
