HIST 3011 - Teaching Historical Thinking: An Introduction

Description: Have you considered a career in history education? Then this is the class for you. Starting with how students learn and what it is that historians really do, we will consider the difference between teaching history and teaching historical thinking, the roll of assessments and goals in course design, the art of scaffolding, how to navigate common classroom challenges, and most of all, how, in teaching historical thinking, we teach the skills on which our nation depends.
