PSYC 3120 - Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination

Credit Hours: 3
Description: From a social psychology perspective, this course will examine the causes and consequences of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination, in their many forms. Race/ethnicity, sexuality and gender identity, ability, socioeconomic status, age, and other identities, as well as intersectional identities will be examined. This course will apply empirical research and psychological theory to understand the ways in which stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination can be automatic, how they are maintained, and how they can be examined, addressed, and reduced.
