Description: The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to Prompt Engineering concepts, tools, and techniques. It is designed for technology professionals, managers, and leaders looking to develop prompt engineering skills and adapt to emerging AI technologies. To these ends, the course will cover a significant amount of content on a wide range of topics including basics of LLM, prompt elements, types of prompts such as zero-shot prompting, few-shot prompting, and chain of thought prompting, prompt engineering life cycle, and various use cases and scenarios. The course is designed as a 3-credit hour per week with 42 hours of total instruction time of which 26 hours are used to teach essential topics and rest of the hours are spent on case studies, lab activities and guest speaking engagements. The students are expected to put in similar efforts on homework, assignments, project and tests.
