Accelerated BS/MS Program
The Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s (ABM) program in Engineering Technology allows outstanding undergraduates to begin the coursework for the Master of Science (M S) in Engineering Technology during their undergraduate studies. Students are encouraged to begin planning to enter the ABM program early in their undergraduate career, in consultation with their academic advisor. Only in ABM programs, up to 12 hours of graduate coursework may be applied to both the undergraduate and graduate programs. However, any graduate coursework will not apply to undergraduate GPA.
To be eligible, students must have a minimum 3.25 grade point average and must have completed at least 75 credit hours of undergraduate coursework towards the B S in Engineering Technology. To apply, students must (1) complete an interview with the undergraduate academic coordinator, (2) request a letter of sponsorship from a program faculty member, and (3) submit a statement of interest to the Department of Engineering Technology. Qualified students will be admitted to the ABM program when they have no more than 34 credit hours remaining to complete the B S in Engineering Technology.
Undergraduate students who are selected into the program must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA each semester until completion of the B S in Engineering Technology. ABM undergraduates must also apply to the Graduate School for the ABM program, which allows them to take graduate courses as an undergraduate student. Working with the undergraduate and graduate academic coordinators, ABM undergraduates may register for and substitute graduate level courses for undergraduate electives or take and substitute.
