Instructional Design and Technology Minor

The minor in Instructional Design and Technology equips students with essential knowledge in learning theories, instructional models, and the application of technology in educational contexts. Students will gain expertise in applying learning theories, semiotics, and visual messaging principles to create effective learning environments. They will explore data visualization techniques and foundational concepts in artificial intelligence (AI), understanding its potential in personalizing and enhancing learning. Through critical analysis, students will investigate AI applications in adaptive learning, instructional practices, and ethical considerations within educational systems. Emphasis is placed on hands-on experience with learning analytics tools, data-informed decision-making, and the design of technology-enhanced learning environments. Students will integrate human-centered design principles to address diverse learning needs and enhance learner engagement and performance. By evaluating and refining learning analytics solutions, they’ll be prepared to innovate within educational settings, promoting effective and ethically responsible technology integration.
