Description: Introduction to main classes of materials: metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites; mechanical and other properties of materials; the relationship between process, structure, and properties; applications of materials; analysis of failure modes; environmental effects on the performance of materials. PREREQUISITE: CHEM 1110 with a grade of C- or better; MECH 2320 or BIOM 2810 with a grade of C- or better.
