PHYS 3052 - Life in the Universe

Description: An overview of observational techniques and experiments designed to detect life in the Universe. Characteristics of the planets in the solar system, detection of extra-solar planets, stellar evolution, habitable zone, origin and evolution of life on Earth, extremophiles (life in extreme environments), and SETI experiments. PREREQUISITE: PHYS 2120 or 2020
