It takes a global history approach, with a focus on the diversity of socialist movements: from Marxism, Anarchism, and Fabians to Social Democracy, Soviet Communism, Maoism, the Israeli kibbuzim movement, Tanzanian ujamma, Bolivarian socialism in Venezuela, and the Western New Left.
