PHYS 3010 - Intro Modern Physics

(3) Special relativity; experimental origin of quantum theory; atomic structure and spectral lines; matter-wave duality; Schroedinger equation; particle in a rigid box; electron spin; structure of atomic nuclei; radioactivity and nuclear reactions. Three lecture hours per week. PREREQUISITE: PHYS 2120  or PHYS 2020
