The Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies Minor Program (18 hours) is intended to provide all students with the opportunity to obtain a broad-based knowledge of the environmental issues facing our planet; knowledge that spans the biological-physical threats and solutions, as well as behavioral, social, economic, and design implications. The Environmental Studies Program fosters interdisciplinary study among diverse course offerings in Anthropology, Architecture, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Economics, Philosophy, Physics, and Political Science.

Requirements

Students Pursuing Behavioral-Humanistic-Design Emphasis

Students pursuing behavioral-humanistic-design emphasis must select two courses (6 hours) from the following offerings:

BIOL 1020 - Biology of Organisms** Credit Hours: (3)
and
BIOL 1021 - Biology of Organisms Lab ** Credit Hours: (1)
CHEM 1010 - Chemistry of Materials** Credit Hours: (3)
and
CHEM 1011 - Chemistry of Materials Lab ** Credit Hours: (1)
ESCI 1020 - Landforms ** Credit Hours: (4)
ESCI 1103 - The Human Planet Credit Hours: (4)
ESCI 1010 - Weather and Climate Credit Hours: (4)
or
ARCH 3421 - Environmental Systems Credit Hours: (3) with ARCH 3713 - Design Studio 3

Students Pursuing an Environmental Science Emphasis

Students pursuing an environmental science emphasis must select two courses (6 hours) in different disciplines from the following offerings:
