Advertising (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts in Advertising trains students for advertising careers in agency, corporate, non-profit, and freelance settings. The advertising program is offered on campus in Memphis. Students learn multiple functions of the advertising business, including ad campaign development and execution, brand management, target audience research, media buying, and creative strategy development. Advertising students also graduate with Google analytics and social media analytics certifications. The Advertising major trains students to work as account executives, account planners, brand managers, copy writers, media buyers, media planners, researchers and social media managers. Advertising students take 51 hours of credit from Journalism and Strategic Media and 9 hours from the Fogelman College of Business and Economics.

Students are strongly encouraged to use elective hours to obtain a minor. Minors in Marketing, Social Media Marketing, or foreign language are recommended.
