Integrative Studies, Youth Development Concentration (B.S.Ed.)

The Youth Development concentration prepares students to work with children and youth in non-instructional positions and roles. The skills and competencies that students develop will afford them opportunities to work in youth-serving non-profit organizations as well as to serve as family and community specialists, youth mentors, behavioral specialists, and paraprofessionals (to name a few) in formal and informal educational settings.

Major Field Core
Students choosing to major in Integrative Studies with a Concentration in Youth Development are required to complete fifteen (15) credit hours in the Major Field Core (in addition to the concentration courses)
Concentration Courses (24 credit hours)
Note:
39 Credit Hours are required for the Integrative Studies Major with a Concentration in Youth Development.
Guided Electives (18 hours)
Students should work with advisors to select elective courses that support the learning outcomes of the concentration. The following courses are recommended:
