Applied Behavior Analysis Minor

A minor in ABA can equip undergraduate students to become a registered behavior technician (RBT) and can help prepare a future or current teacher, school counselor, psychologist, paraprofessional, phsyical therapist, occupational therapist or other school-based or clinic-based support staff with a strong knowledge base of classroom management strategies, behavior change procedures, and interventions related to working with children, adolescents, and/or adults. This minor will provide both depth of foundational knowledge in ABA and the breadth of interconnected experiences to benefit many career goals or future educational goals in a number of fields. With a minor in ABA, undergraduate students will be better equipped to interact with others as members of a team, in a classroom, or as entrepreneurs. In addition, the student will be prepared for graduate work in ABA, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, and other helping careers. All courses are all designed to meet the current standards set forth by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) allowing the students with this minor to sit for national exam which leads to certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). An RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services and working directly with the clients as they help the child and family reach their individual goals.
