Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Undergraduate Programs (All Programs)

The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, concentration in Sports Media, trains students to become professionals in the sports media industry. Sports Media graduates typically work at athletic departments, team media offices, and news outlets as content creators, editors, photographers, producers, and social media managers. Journalism students take 45 hours of credit from Journalism and Strategic Media, 3 hours from Film & Video Production, and 6 hours from Sport & Leisure Management.

Students are strongly encouraged to use elective hours to obtain a minor. Minors should coordinate with the student’s career goals and should advance their understanding of a reporting area. Students should consult with their academic adviser when selecting a minor.
