The School Social Work concentration is designed to prepare students for generalist practice in a school setting. At the end of the program, students will be qualified to be a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) and a Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW) in the State of Tennessee.

Admission Requirements
In addition to the major requirements for the Social Work, (B.A.) , the University General Education Requirements and college requirements, students seeking the School Social Work Concentration must be admitted into the Teacher Education Program (TEP) at the University of Memphis. Students who are seeking licensure by the State of Tennessee as a Licensed School Social Work (LSSW) will need to complete the School Social Work Licensure Application and secure a letter of support from the School Social Work Coordinator. Please consult the University of Memphis School of Social Work website for current information about the licensure process.
