The Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy is a program preparing individuals for an entry level position as a music therapist. According to the American Music Therapy Association, music therapy is an evidence-based use of music interventions to target individual and collective goals within a therapeutic relationship between client and credentialed music therapist. Music therapy interventions can be designed for numerous health and academic-related goals, such as alleviating pain, improve coping, decrease emotional distress, and improve or reinforce pre-academic or academic skills.
