University General Education Program (41 hours)

See Graduation from the University for the University General Education Program requirements. Note that MATH 1830   or MATH 1910   (Mathematics requirement) and ECON 2010   and ECON 2020   (Social/Behavioral Sciences requirement) with a minimum grade of “C” are specified for the B.B.A. degree.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (6-9 hours)

Students must take at least 42 hours but may not exceed 48 hours of coursework in the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media. The College and Bachelor of Arts requirements are in addition to the University General Education Program requirements.

Journalism and Strategic Media Core (21 hours)

Public Relations (24 journalism and strategic media and 6 non-journalism hours):

• JOUR 3130 - Feature Writing/Reporting **
• ADVR 3300 - Survey of Advertising **
• JRSM 4910 - Advanced Social Media **

• MKTG 3010 - Principles of Marketing **
• MKTG 3140 - Advertising/Sales Promotion **

Electives (13 hours)

Completion of courses to bring the total to 120 semester hours.

Internship elective highly recommended last semester to enhance employability and complete minimum of 120 hours for the degree.
