    Description: The purpose of this course is for students to consider how music can have political content, and how politics can influence music. Students will learn some generalizable political concepts that can be applied systematically to analyze political content in music, and to understand how politics can influence music. This course is an interdisciplinary, ‘team-taught’ seminar with instructors from Music and Political Science. Students are expected to engage in open discussion with instructors as well as with the class. Course-specific objectives include understanding basic theoretical approaches, terminology, and analytical concepts from both musicology and political science, and the synthesis of these multi-disciplinary concepts in analytical exercises. General objectives include improving written and verbal communication skills, and exercising critical thinking and analysis skills.

    Description: This class is designed to introduce students to the psychology of organizations and their effect on individuals and groups. Topics include motivation theory, power and authority, communication, teamwork, leadership, job design and organizational structures. Other issues include globalization, cultural diversity, ethics and technology. The prerequisite for this course is PSYC 1030 and although not required it is recommended that you have taken PSYC 3508 for background knowledge. PREREQUISITE: PSYC 1030
