HIST 4021 - U.S. Sport History

Description: This course examines the history of sports in the United States. It seeks to connect how Americans played and consumed sports to larger themes that define the nation’s experience. Topics will include the role of the sporting landscape upon the emergence of the United States as an international power; profound transformations in race, class, gender, and sexuality; economic and corporate growth; and regional variations and traditions.
