University General Education Program (41 hours)
See Graduation from the University for the University General Education Program requirements. Note that DANC 1151 or THEA 1030 and THEA 4548 or THEA 4549 will satisfy the General Education Humanities requirement. However, a minimum grade of “C-” is required in all departmental courses applicable to the major. Dance majors are required to take MUS 1030 as a second Humanities/Fine Arts requirement.
The Major (79 hours)
Major Core (11 hours including 2 hours of labs and technical skills)
Completion of
Two hours of Labs and Technical Skills
Take two of the following labs as part of the 11 hours of core. Labs are repeatable. Theatre and Dance majors are required to take Production Labs in order to become acquainted to the various design/technical and management areas of the profession.
Note
While not listed within the previous course numbers, please note that DANC 1151 , THEA 4548 and THEA 4549 are courses that are used to satisfy a Humanities/Fine Arts General Education requirement. Transfer students who have completed the Humanities/Fine Arts requirements and have not taken any of these in order to fulfill the requirements of the concentration must do so as a department elective.
Labs and Technical Skills (2 hours)
Students must complete two of the labs below. Labs are repeatable.
Acting Electives (18 hours)
Choose six acting emphasis electives.
Free Electives (9 hours)
The free electives can be non-departmental courses as well as Theatre and Dance courses. Courses should be approved by the student’s advisor.
